Aglianico del Salento

Aglianico del Salento, Cantine Tinazzi, € 20,00, 14 degrees. Another red jewel of southern Italy, produced by the northerners (transplanted in Puglia by the Tinazzi Cellars). It is a wine that has origins in Campania where Aglianico is the regional red grape par excellence, from which wines such as Aglianico and Taurasi are derived, proud and vigorous, capable of taming even feathered game. Aglianico del Salento is transplanted in Puglia in a marine and Mediterranean area (the other wine is a wine from the interior of Campania far from the sea and oHen struggling with fog), so it has a soHer and more fruity flavor typical of Mediterranean wines. It is nevertheless powerful and structured, very suitable for red meats and wild boars, aged cheeses but in my opinion not suitable for feathered game.
