Amarone

Amarone, Cantine Le Ragose, 16 degrees, the price changes depending on production farms, 59, 65, 75 euro. This is a unique wine, discover by chance in 1936 when a producer from Valpolicella (good wine but not excellent, from Veneto) forgot a barrel with wine for two years. After 2 years, he remembered and thought the wine went bad,
instead when he tasted it, he found a different wine with an unmistakable taste, that got called Amarone, or else “big amaro”, and of very high alcoholic gradation. !n my opinion, this is the only red wine to be sipped as a meditation wine without food, things that normally it’s done with white wines only. Obviously this wine suites all meats and simila r dish es. Passito beco mes a great dessert wine, called “Recioto” (15 degrees, 75 euro, same producer).
