Brunello

Brunello, Cantina Fattoria dei Barbi (not to be confused with the Podere dei Barbi di Orvieto wineries present in this review with the wines listed in numbers 10 and 11), price € 60.00, degrees 14.5. This wine is produced with a large Sangiovese or Brunello produced only in the municipality of Montalcino. Intense garnet-coloured wine aged 4 years (more to have the reserve), dry and austere flavour, powerful and sharp suitable for red meats and game (including feathered) and ultra-aged cheeses. Historic and very famous wine, for which between the different vintages there can be very strong price changes. It can hold up in the bottle, if well preserved, even 15 years after the harvest.
