A Montepulciano Toscano (produced in Umbria), made only of particularly selected Montepulciano grapes, it should be noted that the Tuscan Montepulciano like that of Abruzzo admits the limited presence (15-30%) of other vines such as Sangiovese and Canaiolo. Here there is only Montepulciano. Wine of a garnet red colour (not blue as it should be for a royal blood), dry, powerful and “hard ” in the sense that it pairs perfectly with large roasts of red meat, including feathered game, whose wild flavour is dull by the power and dryness of this wine. Try it on pecorino of Amatrice, (the town of the legendary Amatriciana pasta), aged at least 36 months, a wonderfu! cheese but for armoried stomachs, however with the Blood of the King you can easily hold it.
